I currently have a 16 year old ruler with "Strong, master swordsman, duelist, brave, brawny, valyrian steel sword, dragon rider, dragon egg, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Crusader Kings doles out victory points for a variety of achievements, and while that does encourage you do engage with every part of it, focusing on specific achievements makes just as much sense. This way you can have the trait without it affecting your age.

For example, if you don't want to add 30 years onto your characters age for choosing to play a master swordsman, you can change the "ruler_designer_cost" to 0. Also, if you want to delve deeper, you can look at all the traits you like and set their values to anything you like. Suuuuuper late to the reply party, but in the off chance that somebody reads this, if you go into "Paradox/ck2/mods/agot/common/traits/ and look for the "Valyrian steel" text document, you can find ANY of the swords and type in "ruler_designer_cost = 0" without the quotation marks, you will be able to start the game with any of the swords you wish (Named or otherwise.
